I am Thorin, son of Thrain, son of Thrór, King under the Mountain1. As a young prince, I witnessed the destruction and terror caused by Smaug, a dragon of fire, that attacked the Kingdom of dwarves Erebor killing thousands of my people and us forcing into exile. Nobody came to our aid, but our enemy does not forget us. The War of the Dwarves and Orcs began when Azog, head of the Moria Orc captured and tortured Thrór, King of Durin’s people. But the worst insult of Azog was carving his name in runes on the severed head of Thrór, and then let his only companion, the old dwarf Nar escape for all dwarves know that an Orc ruled Moria. Full of fury, Thrain, my father, gathered a large army of dwarves and the Battle of Azanulbizar dwarves defeated the orcs, with a high price in lives for our people.
However a greater enemy appeared, Sauron, the Darkness Lord, who wanted the last of the seven rings. Influenced by the ring, Thrain my father left us to return to the realm of Eredor. So, I never saw my father alive again, because Sauron captured him and left him to death in Dol Guldur. Although my people thrive in the Blue Mountains, my heart was restless and never forgot the injustices suffered and the loss of the treasure of my ancestors. As a youngster I realized that revenge against Smaug and the recovery of the Kingdom of Erebor would be my only way in this life. You know the story, told in verse and prose through the generations2. After my physical death, many judged me by my actions, but few realized that my heart is the heart of a dragon.
Upon awakening to new life, a great white dragon came to me standing out of a circle of dragons. – I’m the White Dragon3, I bring you the truth. The Truth that resonates in your heart and awakens your Immortal Soul. I bring the truth that is as old as the dwarves and dragons. As old as Gaia herself.
We, the dragons are the Guardians of Eden, the Guardians of the Tree of Life
and the Tree of Knowledge. We represent the life force and the main principles that govern all things. Thus, we are animal representation of the Four Elements, earth, air, fire and water and the representation of the Elemental World. We move through all worlds away from the shadows and demons created by the human psyche. Thus we are often seen as evil, the shadow side of human beings, one that every being in the universe must dominate and transcend.
You, Thorin Oakenshield, have the heart of the dragon and so his life was marked by the loss, as well as the loss marked the life of the Dragons at the beginning of the Ages. Losing is more than losing a roof and riches3. Losing is to have stolen their eggs and young by evil forces. Losing is to feel your heart leaves you, pursued by an evil and dark energy that fills him with pride, fear and guilt. Losing is to say goodbye to parts of your being, because these parts have already been taken by the shadows. Losing is to leave behind who we love, for we know in our hearts that the darkness has taken them, and that only God can touch them again. How many times Thorin, you felt this way? My eyes stared into the deep eyes White Dragon and my story went like a flash and I felt all the loss in my life. Yes, this is to miss!
A great Golden Dragon came to the center of the circle and said, Thorin Oakenshield, I am the Golden Dragon and tell you that there is no time for blame and regret. Now is the time to recover the territory4. Any territory that has been the Light and ceased to be so for millennia. It is time to reclaim together what belongs to the Pure in Heart by justice3,4. The Earth was at its inception, the territory of harmony, where the energy of the Father and of the Great Goddess were honored at the deepest respect and wisdom. Over time, all – dragons, men, elves and dwarves – we witness the gradual destruction of everything that was most precious in our homes, our families and our beloved Earth. Recover the territory is to have the courage to put fire with that previously us considered safe, bring down the walls of a castle illusion that keeps us in a fictitious security. It has the courage to completely change our lives and leave behind pieces and stories that do not bring us peace but disquiet. Recover the territory is to have the courage to be faithful to be more important in our millenary existences – ourselves!
The Last Dragon, a small blue female dragon approached. -We, the Dragons,
we see the purity of his heart, Thorin, not only in the fleeting moment of a single life, but throughout all your existence. We know the hearts of men and dwarves. You’ve been a Dragon Kinight3,4. Together our heart was only ONE with the Earth and the Divine. Together we protected all the creatures of the earth, taking care for that all creatures to follow the course of its evolution, take care for that all things to remain connected to Gaia, nourished by her, the Mother who creates and sustains. Together we followed the codes of honor and love. Together we flew and banish the shadow, especially those within ourselves, away from the claws of our invisible dark side. Turning shadows into light. Do you remember, Thorin, the days when his heart was the heart of a dragon?
The three dragons look me them eyes were deep love, as I never felt in life. And that love healed every wound of my being, covering the shreds of my soul with the beautiful blue tunic, once I dressed in my journey. A Dragon Knight, a Knight of Light3,4. And then I saw the great gold red dragon, Smaug, like me, wounded and exhausted. – It’s time, said the White Dragon, to recover his heart of a dragon.
To heal their wounds, acknowledge that you have power but that power is only the manifestation of God in you. It’s time to shatter the arrogance of wanting to be by to have. Accept that you only need to be for your spiritual evolution. Accept your heart and bring this dragon who is one with you for the Path of Light, the path that seeks the integration of all kinds, of all races, of all faiths with the heart that created us.
And so was born a great love in my heart for Smaug, my enemy. A love that comes from understanding that we were always One, even in our blindness to treasure of Erebor. From understanding that my enemy was me. A light pierced by their large scales dragon and red-gold fire shrouded his whole being, turning it back on the beautiful dragon of yore. But now no more fearsome but magnificent. In its wings, as the knight and dragon fly together again, a single dragon heart, a heart of light against Sauron, against all illusion, fear and darkness. Together to regain our territory, our beloved Gaia.
